I have just finished teaching an Online Marketing Course in Kilkenny and I am currently doing an Online Marketing Course in Dublin. It is run by sureskills / Digital Marketing Institute. It’s a 12 week course and last night we were on week seven.
Now here is where I get to the point of this post. The course is run taught by industry professionals. The cream of the online marketing crop in Ireland. One of the lecturers, a Mr Anthony Quigley, who I have been told on more than one occasion is one of the top 5 seos in Ireland has served me.
It came to his attention that when one Googles Online Marketing Course my t2 blog comes up very high in searches, today it was at position 4. Ian Dodson of Web Kitchen informed me that Mr Quigley had decided to write a blog about the success of my blogging in order to knock my blog off of it’s pole position. The nerve!!
I would just like to say to Mr Quigley, I accept your serve and yes IT’S ON.
I now make an appeal to anyone reading this to link to this post, link like the internet will be over tomorrow. Link like there’s nobody watching. Link, link, link I beg you and help me, a person trying to make her way in the cut throat, yes that’s right Mr Quigley, world of SEO.
Hi Rita
The gauntlet has been thrown down! :O)
Congrats on being 1 and 2 for searches on “Online Marketing Course”.

Hi Rita
I must say that this is an interesting example of the inflnunce blogging has on SEO rankings. Obviously, I was intrigued to see that your blog post came up #3 in the Google rank. So, I thought – why is that? Is it that the t2 site is indexed faster or what. And then I noticed that your current blog is now appearing in 4th position – after 4 days! This is truly amazing! I then went on to search for my colleague Ian Dodson and hhe appears – on your blog – in position #6. So, what is happeneing is that your blog, whatever way it is constructed, is being crawled and highly indexed very fast. And it is a standard WordPress blog!
So, if you compare your blog to that on the Digial Marketing Institute (www.digitalmarketinginstitute.ie), there is no apparent difference in the structure.
I just had a look at the site and notice that you have over 1700 inbound links and I would hazard a guess that this might just be the trigger!!
In the meantime, well done!
Anthony

Thanks guys! I appreciate it. Anthony, you are just too nice to continue having an seo death match with.
I’d say this is more to do with QDF than links.
Search for “query deserves freshness” – it likely fits the bill for new posts ranking very well.

Hmm… I can’t find your T2 blog when searching “Online Marketing Course” in google.
It would be a challenge indeed to make it rank#1 with all the websites out there tagged with “Online Marketing Course”.
Good luck!
Good luck with your rankings, good work with thinking out of the box to try and get people to link to you…
